Requirements for this policy
This policy applies to all full-time employees who have been at Vital for one year
If you have been at Vital for less than one year then you will receive the statutory maternity rate based on your location
You must provide at least 8 weeks' notice before the intended leave state
Our maternity policy for mothers as primary caregivers
π¬π§ United Kingdom
Employees based in the UK are entitled to up to 52 weeks of maternity leave
If you have been at Vital for 1 year, you'll be supported with:
The first 12 weeks of maternity leave will be paid at 100% gross salary
Then Statutory Maternity Pay will be for the following 23 weeks
You will then have 17 weeks unpaid, if you choose to take it
This leave can begin up to 11 weeks before your due date
Note:
you will accrue holiday during your maternity leave
mothers returning to work within the first 26 weeks of starting maternity leave are guaranteed a return to their previous role, thereafter they will be guaranteed a role of similar seniority

Employees based in the US will receive 12 weeks of fully paid maternity leave for eligible employees
You will continue to receive health insurance benefits during this time
There are a few states with specific state programs as a statutory requirement so we can discuss this with you on a case by case basis to make sure we're optimising your leave.
Our paternity leave
Vital offers 4 weeks paternity leave at full pay immediately following the birth plus a further two weeks of full paid leave during the following 50 weeks
Depending on your location, you might be entitled to unpaid leave if based in the US
