Timeframes for requesting holiday
Holidays 1 week or longer need to be requested with at least 3 weeks notice.
Holidays of a day or two should be requested at least 3 days in advance unless itβs an emergency/unforeseen circumstance.
Holidays for longer than a total of 3 days should not be taken during probation unless pre-approved prior to joining.
Exemptions will be at the discretion of your manager.
When to use your vacation days
We work flexibly at Junction meaning we work remotely and employees can adjust their start and end times, as long as you complete your required tasks or hours. We work across GMT and EDT timezones so expect at least 3 hours crossover with your day.
If you're going to be out of action for a chunk of the day - please consider booking off half a day vs trying to fit in those hours out of your usual hours.
What to do when you're on holiday
Set your slack emoji and an OOO on your email depending on your role so everyone is aware
Please write a holiday handover to make sure everyone on the team has the context they need whilst you're away, so you can switch off

We care about your physical and mental health! Pushing yourself to work when you're sick is neither fun nor useful - you'll recover quicker if you focus your energy on taking care of yourself.
What to do If you are not well enough to work:
let your manager know by 10am (by slack, email, text)
ask them to rearrange any external meetings
put your sick day on Deel or ask your manager if you're too unwell
update your Slack status to π€ and snooze notifications for the day set your email out-of-office (if you use this regularly) focus on feeling better!
If you're still too sick to work the next day, same as above, plus letting them know if there's anything that needs to be covered while you're away. If you think you're going to need a few days out to recover, please flag that as early as possible so that we can be better prepared to keep things running smoothly in your absence (one less thing for you to worry about). If you're not feeling π― but you're sure that you are well enough to work productively:
try to take it easy
focus on the things that absolutely have to happen that day
stop if you feel worse!
stay hydrated, take naps, look after yourself
Health is the most important thing!
Off sick for longer periods If you are sick for more than 7 days consecutively, your manager will ask for a doctors note to make sure we understand how to support you through this period and we will put an individual plan together to support your recovery.
